She was kept in the dark, in the cold
Trapped where her soul would not bloom
Where her wings could not stretch
To take to the sky in flight

Determined, she stayed strong
Her hope guiding her heart
Through her tears she could see freedoms light

When she was finally able to escape the dark, the cold
she spread her wings, winds lifting her to the heavens
Free of her prison
Her tears, she no longer had to cry
With the kiss of freedoms breeze
Now shining crystals
As she soared the air on her flight of independance
Her soul bloomed
Most beautiful of all
The Golden Rose

It's a pretty piece.

This said... I can't help but think it may have been better done in sculpy. You seem to have finer edge control with that stuff.

i use acetone to remove the paint - and i use acrylics to re-paint. Usually Folk Art, Apple Barrel...those types

thanks...I keep hearing about doll repaints but was too nervous to mess up a $25 doll. Do you use a clear sealer afterwards? I appreciate your input.

you can use sealant - I usually don't - because of the shine it creates - but sometimes I do.
when you paint use some water -thinned paint helps to get even strokes. Then you can do more coats if needed.

Thank you. I'm still learning. I appreciate your tips....your painting is always flawless- it looks like it came directly from the store that way. I love your custom wigs you put on the dolls too!
